NSPCC St Cuthbert's Way Charity Walk
On 7th May Darcy dog joined me and we jumped on the bus to 'Toon', the train to Berwick and the bus to Melrose to start walking from the Abbey.
Over the next seven days we walked to St Boswells, Jedburgh and Town Yetholm, then crossed the English border heading through the Cheviots to Wooler, West Mains, Holy Island and finally back up to Berwick on 13th. It was fantastic, 229,000 steps in temperatures that reached 25 degrees and without a single drop of rain.
I can't recommend the walk enough, it is beautiful with highpoints including watching a fisherman catch a sea trout in the river Tweed, crossing the incredible Cheviots, watching an adder sunbathing on Wooler Moor, visiting the St Cuthbert's Cave system, walking barefoot across the sands to Lindisfarne Priory and on the final day yomping up the east coast which was stunning.
Can I say thank you to everyone who has already generously donated to our Just Giving Page for the incredible NSPCC. We are going to keep the page open until the end of May, so if you can find a fiver to help children around the UK live better lives, all of your money will go straight to their great cause on 1st June 2024.
This film will show you some of our adventures and includes a section from the event that I hosted with our NSPCC guests at Haylofts on 14th May 2024.
