Proud to call the North East home, we created #Unlike NE Where with the aim of driving positive messages about our region and to inspire people to visit, live and work here. Sharing our ambition NewcastleGateshead Initiative became Headline Sponsor and together we developed the concept of Angel for the first film in the series.
Capturing people and places from all corners of the North East, Angel weaves together six stories about the unsung heroes and icons in the region. Those featured in the film included Durham Cathedral, RAF Cadets, Great North Air Ambulance, The RNLI, the World Transplant Games and second World War Pilot, Wilson Taylor.
The film premiered at the amazing Tyneside Cinema in January. The night was a huge success and the film has since been shared across social media and on the new #UnlikeNEwhere website, which is home to North East content for all to share. We were overwhelmed by the response both online and in the press. Angel generated an impressive 48.6k impressions, 2.8k engagements and 11k videos on social media, as well as featuring in the Northern Echo (200,000 daily readerships), Newcastle Chronicle (66,249 daily readership), North East Times, Northumberland Gazette and Living North Magazine.
