Britain’s Brilliant Incomers
Honeypot Creative has delivered a huge series of films for Skills for Care, headed by Wendy Adams. The project promotes their international recruitment; specifically, the benefits of employing refugees, migrant workers and international students in the care sector. Nationally, this was a year-long project; filming 23 interviews across multiple locations and delivering almost 40 films!
The films highlight the incredible value of these brilliant incomers to British society, and why we absolutely need the skills, passion and commitment to the massively undervalued care sector.
Part 1 of the project told the heartwarming stories of three refugees and the two care centre managers who have benefitted from employing them.
We have been amazed by the stories told by some of the fantastic people we met working for care providers Prism Care NE and Blyth Valley Disability Forum in this series of films. They clearly love caring for so many in our region.
Part 2 of the project; we met five migrant workers and highlighted how important they are to the care sector. These wonderful people are working for care providers Hillcare Group.
They offer us skilled individuals who are enthusiastic and want to care for those in our society who need to be supported.
Part 3 of the project, we met international degree students who combine their studies with work in the care sector. The films explore and maximise the opportunities that international recruitment offers. Two of the employers are New Beginnings and Sunderland Care and Support.
Through training, knowledge and utilising the students’ already-established skills, assists them to excel in the healthcare industry. It helps them understand patient care, and to master communication techniques, whilst opening doors to a myriad of career opportunities within the care sector.
We have thoroughly enjoyed working on a series which whilst delivering a vital message has evoked tears to laughter and every emotion in-between.
